Introduction | The GGG Experience | History

Girls Girls Girls has been an artistic collective since September 2003, and currently we are comprised of 9 members (including one musicians). We strive to present shows that have both entertaining story arcs and clearly recognizable musical theater elements, such as singing and dancing. As a part of our development, we are continually designing new techniques for incorporating the nuances of musicals into an improvised performance.

We have performed in many festivals such as Out of Bounds Improv Festival and Miniature Golf Tournament, Waffle Fest, and FronteraFest, where the Girls recently won "Best of the Week." Some of the theatres the Girls have performed at include Arts on Real, The Hideout, Mary Moody Northern Theatre at St. Edwards University, and Hyde Park Theatre.

Each year, the Girls introduce a new musical format. In 2004, the Girls launched a new format, The Rock Opera. The Rock Opera was entirely sung and had a designated narrator and hero. In 2005, the Girls debuted GGG: Beneath the Music, an improvised parody of VH1 Behind the music. In 2006, the Girls expanded their repetoire with The Cabaret Show, where we form a fictional band that performs at live music venues.

Girls Girls Girls is now the oldest performing improv troupe in Austin and the winner of the Austin Chronicle Reader's Poll for "Best Improv Troupe." Girls Girls Girls was also nominated for Best Improv Troupe, Best Format, Best Marketing in the Austin Improv Collective Awards. The Girls will continue to expand their reign of musical comedy goodness by touring nationally through AusTex Entertainment. In 2007, look for us at the Dirty South Improv Festival in Chapel Hill, NC.
